About the Role
We are hiring an experienced QA Lead – Manual & Automation to lead quality assurance initiatives for a fast-growing B2B SaaS platform serving warehouse management, fulfillment, and logistics operations. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who can build and mature a QA function while actively contributing to manual and automated testing across web, mobile, and API applications.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in QA strategy, automation frameworks, release management, and leading distributed QA teams. This role requires daily overlap with U.S. business hours to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and execute the overall QA strategy across manual, automation, API, integration, mobile, and end-to-end testing
• Build, maintain, and scale automated test suites for web, mobile, and API applications
• Lead and mentor distributed QA teams across multiple time zones, ensuring consistent quality standards and execution
• Evaluate product risks and determine the optimal balance between automated and manual testing approaches
• Develop automated tests using frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Maestro, or similar technologies
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and establish reliable release quality gates
• Own regression testing, release validation, and go/no-go recommendations for production deployments
• Perform hands-on manual and exploratory testing for complex business workflows and transactional systems
• Manage defect lifecycle including defect triage, documentation, prioritization, tracking, and resolution validation
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle
• Define and monitor quality metrics including automation coverage, pass rates, escaped defects, regression cycle time, and flaky test analysis
• Drive continuous improvements in QA processes, testing standards, and engineering best practices
Required Skills
• 7+ years of Quality Assurance experience with at least 3 years in a QA leadership role
• Strong hands-on experience in both manual and automation testing for enterprise web and mobile applications
• Expertise in modern automation frameworks including Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Maestro, or similar tools
• Experience with API testing, RESTful services, JSON validation, test data management, and environment setup
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and release processes
• Strong knowledge of test planning, test case design, exploratory testing, and defect management
• Experience leading distributed, offshore, or remote QA teams in Agile development environments
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience building or scaling a QA function from the ground up
• Experience working within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Logistics, Supply Chain, Fulfillment, ERP, or E-commerce SaaS platforms
• Knowledge of PHP/Laravel, React, TypeScript, Docker, AWS, and BDD frameworks such as Gherkin or Behat
• Experience with performance testing, observability tools, feature flag strategies, or AI-assisted testing platforms
• Strong written English communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across global teams
• Candidates available to join immediately or on short notice will be preferred
