About the Role
We are hiring an experienced Senior SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) Consultant to lead SAP PM/EAM initiatives across the complete project lifecycle in SAP S/4HANA Asset Management environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong functional leadership, hands-on configuration expertise, and extensive experience in maintenance management, Shutdown/Turnaround/Outage (STO) planning, asset performance management, predictive maintenance, and SAP PM integrations. Experience in asset-intensive industries such as Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Refining, Utilities, and Manufacturing will be highly valuable.
Key Responsibilities
SAP PM / EAM Implementation
• Lead the complete lifecycle of SAP PM/EAM initiatives, including requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and production support
• Configure and optimize SAP S/4HANA Asset Management and SAP Fiori applications for Enterprise Asset Management
• Design and improve preventive, corrective, breakdown, condition-based, predictive, project, and shutdown maintenance processes
• Lead functional discussions and provide guidance to business and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle
Shutdown, Turnaround & Outage Management
• Lead large-scale Shutdown, Turnaround, and Outage (STO) planning and execution initiatives
• Manage work packages, resource scheduling, critical path coordination, outage governance, and execution tracking
• Support post-shutdown performance analysis and identify opportunities for maintenance optimization
• Coordinate maintenance, engineering, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure effective outage execution
Asset & Maintenance Master Data
• Configure and govern key SAP PM master data including:
• Functional Locations
• Equipment
• Material Serial Numbers
• Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Task Lists
• Measuring Points and Measuring Counters
• Maintenance Plans
• Work Centers
• Linear Asset structures where applicable
• Ensure master data quality, consistency, governance, and alignment with maintenance processes
Maintenance Process Management
• Configure and support maintenance notifications and maintenance orders
• Manage refurbishment, calibration, permits, confirmations, technical completion, settlement, and maintenance cost control processes
• Optimize maintenance planning and execution workflows to improve operational efficiency and asset reliability
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements aligned with SAP best practices
Integration & Enterprise Systems
• Architect and support SAP PM integration with SAP MM, FI/CO, PS, QM, and other enterprise applications
• Support interfaces between SAP PM/EAM and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Operational Technology (OT) platforms, plant historians, and third-party maintenance solutions
• Integrate SAP with planning and scheduling solutions such as Prometheus, Primavera P6, or equivalent enterprise scheduling platforms
• Prepare functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams on interfaces, workflows, reports, forms, enhancements, and custom developments
Asset Performance & Reliability
• Support and implement SAP Asset Performance Management (SAP APM) initiatives
• Drive asset health monitoring, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and reliability improvement programs
• Apply methodologies such as Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI)
• Lead equipment criticality assessments and asset reliability programs
• Drive maintenance optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
KPIs & Performance Management
• Develop and monitor maintenance and asset performance KPIs, including:
• Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
• Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
• Schedule Compliance
• Equipment Availability
• Maintenance Backlog
• Overall Asset Performance
• Analyze maintenance performance data and recommend corrective and improvement actions
Testing, Migration & Deployment
• Lead Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and business process validation activities
• Support SAP data migration activities including master data cleansing, validation, migration planning, and SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit processes
• Support cutover planning, go-live, hypercare, and production stabilization
• Troubleshoot functional issues and provide root-cause analysis and resolution
Training & Stakeholder Management
• Conduct end-user training and knowledge transfer sessions
• Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), functional documentation, and training materials
• Engage with maintenance, operations, engineering, supply chain, finance, and other business stakeholders
• Support audit, compliance, change management, transport management, documentation, and governance requirements
• Challenge existing processes and recommend solutions that deliver measurable business value
Required Skills & Experience
• 8+ years of SAP PM/EAM consulting experience
• Strong functional leadership experience in SAP Plant Maintenance
• Proven end-to-end implementation experience in SAP S/4HANA Asset Management
• Strong hands-on configuration experience with SAP PM and SAP Fiori applications
• Extensive knowledge of preventive, corrective, breakdown, condition-based, predictive, project, and shutdown maintenance processes
• Strong experience with Shutdown, Turnaround, and Outage (STO) planning and execution
• Excellent knowledge of SAP PM master data and maintenance execution processes
• Experience with SAP PM integration with MM, FI/CO, PS, QM, and external systems
• Experience with SAP APM, asset reliability, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, RCM, and RBI
• Strong understanding of maintenance KPIs including MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability, and maintenance backlog
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA data migration and Migration Cockpit
• Strong experience in SIT, UAT, cutover, go-live, and production support
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Refining, Utilities, Manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industries
• Experience integrating SAP PM/EAM with MES, OT, plant historians, and third-party maintenance platforms
• Experience with Prometheus, Primavera P6, or similar planning and scheduling solutions
• Strong knowledge of SAP Asset Performance Management and reliability engineering practices
• Experience working on large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programs
• Strong ability to challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement
